Dr. Peter Bashara


Dr. Pete Bashara is a 1997 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, The Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association and The Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Pete Bashara serves on the board of directors for both the Nebraska Humane Society and The Doris Day Animal Foundation as well as maintaining an active membership with the Iowa State University Veterinary Medical Alumni Association. In 2007, Dr. Bashara received the Midwest Business Journal's small businessperson of the year.  In 2009 Dr. Bashara received the Margret H. Durham Volunteer Recognition and in 2017 the Gentle Doctor Animal Hospitals won the Golden Biscuit Award in support for the Walk for The Animals.  Dr. Bashara and his wife Andrea, an Omaha native, have two children.  They also have three dogs, a cat and a turtle – all rescued from the Nebraska Humane Society.
